Just got home from the basketball game with my mom, and what a game it was. I figured that playing Chicago State would be a walk in the park, and be a nice boost for the Huskers, but it turned out to be so much more than that:

1) Early through the first half, the Huskers were losing (only up 1 at halftime), and were in danger of having the baseball team put up more on the scoreboard than the basketball team. It might have happened if the game wasn't stopped after 7 innings.

2) Alec Maric looks good in a suit. No clue why he didn't play (maybe he was in that fight with McCray earlier), but it didn't matter. Just nice to know that the Men's Big & Tall was able to get him in right before the game. Don't be surprised if you see that same suit when he gets drafted in '08.

3) Royce Parran might be Dicky V's player of the week/month/year. If he's not, he's all three of those for me. Parran didn't even start, dropped 25, countless 3's, and is one of two players that is smaller than Charles Richardson. Flat out, this kid can play. Plus, the whole night he was doing And One moves trying to juke people. He even got mismatched on Schliep, juked him, made Schliep fall straight backwards and sunk another three .... he was just fun and amazing to watch.

4) Holbein is back. I repeat, Holbein is back. They showed my good friend up on the big screen, and I made my way over and talked to him for a little bit. It seems that Steve Peterson gave him season tickets in the last seats with backs on them in C23. If you know of anyone that sits up there, go talk to Holbein. The man can teach you something about basketball (as well as how to yell at the refs).

5) Joe McCray is back as well. Joe had an amazing night, and even won over a few fans that were sitting around me. I think I spoke too soon when I said he isn't even the best player from his high school on our team. It was really good to see him come out and have a hell of a game. Must've been the new shoes that he was sporting.
