A full week of our favorite past time

15 June 2008
No matter what is going on with our lives or how far apart we live, whenever the Cubs and Braves begin their regular three game series, it gives Drew and I a chance to talk and catch up. If you think about it, it's quite amazing that a simple baseball game will remind us that we haven't followed up with each other in a while and that a phone call is well overdue. The feeling of watching your phone ring after your team has just been swept isn't the call you're excited to take, but I knew it was coming and I knew I'd be the one starting the call if the tables were turned.

This brings us to this weekend where Matt Sage had one of the greatest ideas ever: have your bachelor party in Omaha during the College World Series. His wedding was at a perfect time and Omaha was a central location for everyone that attended.

What makes it even better was sitting through the 4+ hour opening game and watching Stanford explode for 11 runs in the top of the ninth inning. I felt bad for FSU because I know how hard it is to come back from at least 5 runs in the last inning.

It was a great weekend and my hat is off to Sage for coming up with a great idea and setting the bar high for anyone else to follow.
