It was nearly a month since I wanted to launch the new redesign, but it took a little longer than expected. To see what changed, you can view the past designs of v5.0 here: green, blue, red and orange.

I did a complete overhaul this time, which probably explains for the extra 30 days I needed to get this site off the ground. In the past, I've just done a face lift and concentrated on redesigning. This time, I went a few steps further so that everything on the site is custom coded. I moved away from Blogger and am writing everything to my own database so that I have complete control over the look and feel of anything that I want to do.

A few new features are how the archives are displayed, the search feature, the custom RSS feed and the modRewrite to get some URLs displaying nice for searching. The pics page also got a massive overhaul with the addition of some nice javascript and ajax calls.

I'm sure there are a few bugs that need to be tweaked, so if you see anything that needs to be fixed, be sure to let me know. Other than that, general opinions and first impressions are always welcome.
