Happy New Year
01 January 2009
It was good to see the little guy getting some love in the last game. Castille was thought to be only a short yardage back and not provide any sustainability behind Lucky and Helu, Jr. Henery, a guy who completed and made as many FG in the past two games as he did all last year showed us that we have nothing to worry about in the kicking game for years to come. Hagg comes out of nowhere to provide two huge goal line stops and O'Hanlon, who many questioned why he was starting at the beginning of the year, comes up with the biggest defensive play of the game by knocking down a sure touchdown with 1:45 left to play. So what was the biggest offensive play of the game (I continued this paragraph so I can bold another name)? It was Witt's non-fumble four yard scamper to set up a punt.
With the win, Pelini's only five straight bowl victories away from breaking Schnellenberger's current 6-0 mark. It's remarkable to think that Nebraska should have pitched shutouts in their past two bowl games as they have given their opponent every point on turnovers.
Now we just need to find a way to transfer the winning ways to the hard court.
Happy new years everyone.
