I really can't express in words how great the 4^th was this year. It's amazing every time that I come back into Seward for it. I couldn't even imagine spending it anywhere else. It was awesome too that a few new people could experience the 4^th in Seward (all of which have said they will be attending next year, so mom, we need to get more places for people to sleep at the house!). It was great that we all got to hang out and enjoy the parade and the fireworks afterwards.

The parade was great this year. All of the notables are always on hand:
Governor Heidemann
US Senator Ben Nelson
Congressman Jeff Fortenberry
Congressman (soon to be governor) Tom Osborne
And even some guy that Ben got the attention of called Dave Nabity

When you get a starting line-up like this for the parade, you realize how truly great Seward is on the 4^th. There must've been hundreds of places that want these people to come for the 4^th, but every year, they keep coming back to Seward.

The parade was great just with the big names, but then to throw in some good beer, and some AMAZING mint juleps, the parade was even better.

Once that was finished, we went over to drink some more (go figure) and eat at the Besse's. From there we took the trolley back to our house, rested up, then went to the Urban's to watch the grand finale for the firework display. The fireworks were OK this year. They have been much better in the past, so come on in next year and see them!
