This weekend was amazing. Christi and I drove down to Missouri on Friday and spent the whole weekend with my (and soon to be her) family. It was a great time. It was the first time that I had ever been down to Dave and Nyla's lake house, and man they got a nice set up down there. It was the ideal place to get away for a few days, eat some great food, jet ski, and have a reunion to get to know the other side of the Helge side of our family (best way that I could put it). It was also great to have Christi see everyone on the Helge side of the family. Well.... besides Erica that is. I guess living on the other side of the Atlantic gives you excuses from such occasions though.

Since Christi spent her time getting to know the family, it was my turn to do something for her when we arrived back in Omaha. When we got back, we showered, changed, and went to a bridal expo. held at the future site (we think) of our reception area. We've been talking about things for the wedding here and there since the engagement, but this was the first real installment of planning out our entire night. I thought it was just going to be a lot of fluff and stuff that I wouldn't be in to, but it was actually quite fun. There were tons of booths set up, lots of different options to choose from, and a bunch of free food! We even won free "toasting" glasses that we are going to pick up at the free dinner that we won on Tuesday night. Yes, yes. That means that I will be missing the All-Star game to wine and dine with the future mrs. But that's ok. We have a DVR!
