Nebrasketball at the Garden
03 March 2018
With the combination of Nebraska's unbelievable season (they were predicted to finish towards the bottom of the tournament this year), locking in the double-bye four seed and playing at MSG I had to go watch them in person. Thankfully my wife is fully supportive of my unhealthy(?) Nebrasketball habit, and has been for a while, so I figured this would be an amazing chance to see them play in person while living in Connecticut.
Trying to get a group at work to go with me, I was only able to convince Keith so we headed in yesterday. Once we hit I-684 the weather took a turn for the worse. It started sleeting at a pretty good rate. No more than 30 yards in front of us we saw a pickup and SUV hit each other and swerve from the far left lane all the way straight into the right ditch. Luckily we didn't lose control slamming on the brakes at the same time. After catching our breath at a rest stop we finally made it to MSG.
As crazy of a fan I am and for how well they were doing this year I was extremely excited to watch them play. First four minutes were great ... then the last 36, not so much. Really stunk to go watch them play their absolute worst game of the year and probably miss the tournament because of it. Either way, I still had a good time and if this team stays intact, I'll probably go next year to try to break my losing streak with them!
